THE HUNT FOR IRA BOMBERS—the dirty little bastards

November 17 1981
Twenty thousand policemen are hunting for an IRA cache of explosives in Britain’s biggest anti-terror drive. In London alone officers will search 100,000 lock-up garages for 500 pounds of gelignite. The massive operation, which swung into action on Monday November 18, follows a tip off from Ireland that the bombers plan to step up their terror campaign. It is believed that they may use their hidden explosives for attacks on Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.
