Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis was held up for two hours by immigration officials in Britain on Tuesday (23-6-70). The immigration men, at London Heathrow Airport, insisted that he should have a medical examination. But 44-year-old Theodorakis, pictured here at the airport, refused. After a long argument with health officials, Theodorakis, who wrote the title music for the film "Zorba the Greek," was given a visa for a week’s stay. He is to conduct a London concert on Sunday (26-6-70). Theodorakis, who was suffering from tuberculosis after Greece’s military regime imprisoned him for two year, said the officials had made him feel "like a criminal."
